Do you have an engineering project? Would you like to conduct an analysis of the project's economics? In this project, student-consultants working in teams will bring with their knowledge on concepts of engineering economics to be able to evaluate your organization's project from a financial perspective that is needed in the decision making process. Students will focus on various financial and analytical techniques such as cash flow analysis, comparison methods, time value, capital management, inflation, sensitivity and risk analysis. The students will develop a report and presentation for your organization upon completion of the project.

Exemples de projets

Beginning in January, students in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.

Project activities include but are not limited to:

  • Exploring major principles of economic analysis for decision making in engineering profession.
  • Preparing cost estimation and analyze basic financial reports of engineering applications.
  • Examining the effects of depreciation, income taxes, inflation and price change in engineering economic analysis problems.
  • Assessing and quantifying the uncertainty and risk associated with engineering projects and evaluate alternatives using variety of analytical techniques.
  • Designing and preparing a business plan for the engineering project.
