Students from Trinity Western University's Consumer Behaviour course have a deep understanding of consumer markets, and are able to take those insights and apply them to generate informed strategies for you.

Student-consultants will be able to analyze, assess, and provide recommendations to your organization based on underlying consumer behaviour buying principles, and research which they can conduct into your target market and/or potential markets which you may be looking to enter. Your company will benefit by gaining new insights into your target market and/or strategies which can be directly applied to improve brand success in the market place.

The current consumer behaviour course will have around 20 students. Students will be broken up into groups of 3 -5 and multiple groups will be able to focus on exploring your project from different perspectives.

Résultats et livrables attendus

Deliverables will depend on the project and employer type. In most instances, you can expect a written report and presentation of the student's findings. In addition, you can expect the students stay in regular communication with you throughout the research process giving you the opportunity to infuse their work with ideas and industry knowledge.

Some examples of projects which students in this course can work on include the following:

  • Market research into your current target market. If you already have an established target market and/or identified the target market that you wish to focus on, but wish to increase market uptake, students can help by doing research into your target market.
  • Exploring other potential consumer markets for entry. If you're looking to expand into new markets, students can help by doing market research into potential consumer markets, and provide insights into which markets may work best and strategies which are most likely to be successful.
  • Provide insights into barriers to purchase. Students can help to discover some barriers that may be hindering consumers from picking your product over other alternatives. Such insights will be useful in gaining stronger market traction.
  • Help you to select new locations for your product. If you're looking to explore new areas for doing business, students can help by doing research into the consumer markets in each of these locations.
  • Provide informed and well supported strategies based on consumer behaviour theories. Many behavioral theories provide insight into why and how consumers act and behave. Developing strategies which take these theories into account can provide new insight for businesses. Students can review your current strategies and develop new ones allowing for stronger market potential
