In too many cases, what we had thought was genuine empathy has been shown to actually shown to be performative at best. So our question is "Can narratives play a role in increasing empathy?" In order to answer this question we need to start by understanding what happens at a neurobiological level when people are exposed to narratives.
The project may include, but is not limited to:
- Exploring the existing literature on: (neurobiology and narratives), (neurobiology and empathy)
- Contribute to the development of a scholarly paper about this topic
